It was all about fun and games at Jerome Harrison Elementary School yesterday at the annual Fun Day. Due to rainy, overcast skies, most of the fun was moved inside.

The hallways were lined with games manned by parent volunteers, a temporary tattoo station and a sand art table. The gymnasium was home to field day games and contests and in the courtyard, students were treated to some water games, bubbles, popcorn and blue raspberry Italian ice.

Students then came outside with bright blue lips to see that action in the dunk tank. They weren't the only ones with blue lips, though, as Beth Parker, the school psychologist, was just finishing up her hour in the dunk tank and Principal Shawn Parkhurst was heading in for his turn.

The students in the four 1st-grade classes, plus one kindergarten class, each got three chances to dunk their principal. Though it took them a few throws to warm up, the students hit their stride, dunking Parkhurst over and over thanks to some strong throws and a little help from onlookers.
