3 Questions for Director of Libraries Bob Hull: August

Learn to use your e-reader at the library, get help with Obamacare and don't forget to read for fun as school starts!

North Branford Patch: What's new at the North Branford libraries?
Bob Hull: Our libraries are offering one-on-one advice and instruction for using e-readers like the Kindle or iPad and loading library books onto readers. The next sessions are Friday, Aug. 23 at Atwater, 3:30 to 5 p.m. and Wednesday Aug. 28 at Smith, 6:30 to 8:00. Come in and sign up to see an expert.

North Branford Patch: What's something residents should know?
Bob Hull: Obamacare is here, no matter how you feel about it politically. Many people will be researching and signing up for coverage via the internet. Some of our staff are getting training in how to access information and choose policies. Keep us in mind as a resource for help.

North Branford Patch: What's your best back-to-school advice?
Bob Hull: For students, reading can sometimes seem to be just a chore. The joy of reading comes from reading what YOU want to. If you've gotten away from reading for pleasure, check out our collections of traditional books, books on CD, and ebooks. Parents: if children enjoy what they're reading (or what you read to them!), development of reading skill will follow. No special technique -- just reading for FUN.
