3 Questions for Economic Development Chair Eric Hodgson: July 2013

Economic development chair Eric Hodgson updates us on the upcoming Charette, talks about shopping local and more.

North Branford Patch: What's new with the Economic Development Commission?
Eric Hodgson, EDC Chairman: The EDC was allocated the money to go ahead with our plan to run a "charette" process to help our town decide how best to develop the area of the Route 80/139 expansion by the recreation center/Wall Field.  We have been working on this process with a group from Yale's School of Architecture and hope to be able to send out some firm dates for the actual community participation sections.  This will likely take place in October.  We are pretty sure that part of the overall plan will be the creation of some "open space/town green in that area," so that's exciting.  If you want to get involved, please let us know!

North Branford Patch: What's something residents should know?
Eric Hodgson: Shop locally! Residents should know that we have a huge variety of options for fresh locally grown food here in North Branford. Please shop locally! Also, please visit some of the new businesses that have opened up recently in town.

North Branford Patch: What's your favorite way to beat the heat in the summer?
Eric Hodgson: I love to beat the heat by taking my dog to a nearby river to swim. It's both peaceful and cool!
