3 Questions for Senior Center Program Supervisor Judy Barron: July 2013

Judy Barron talks about new programs at the Senior Center, the Temporary Food Program and summer beach days.

North Branford Patch: What's new in your department?
Judy Barron: So many new weekly activities have gotten underway at the Senior Center. We have Mon-Jong on Mondays, Get Fit on Tuesdays, Walking on Wednesdays, Pinochle and Bingo on Thursdays, and Ballroom Line Dancing on Fridays.  For more information you can call 203-315-6017 or stop by the Senior Center Monday thru Friday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to try one of these activities.

North Branford Patch: What's something residents should know?
Judy Barron: The North Branford Temporary Food Program is still going strong after a year and a half. The Senior Center handles the assessments for this program so if you know of a resident that is undergoing treatments, recently out of the hospital, etc. call and see if they qualify for meals on a temporary basis. 203-315-6017

North Branford Patch: What's your favorite way to beat the heat in the summer?
Judy Barron: I love to spend my weekends at Branford Point with my kids.  We pack a picnic lunch and go for the day. The kids have a blast in the water and it’s so nice to sit in the sun and feel the breeze by the water. We don’t beat the heat ~ we embrace it!!
