to exempt social security benefits from the state income tax.

Social security benefits are already taxed by the federal
government. Connecticut is one of only 14 states that also taxes social security benefits.
“During these continued tough times, we should be doing all we can to help seniors and those who live on fixed income,” said Cartier.
According to TopRetirements.com, our state is ranked among the Top 10 Worst States to retire because of the high cost of living and high taxes.
