Our son, Mike Castaldi, is a Navy serviceman who returned from his third deployment overseas on Monday. He returned safely, but unfortunately, when he opened his storage unit in Gulfport, Mississippi, it was almost completely empty. He was robbed of everything but some large furniture and his military uniforms.
Mike–a 2000 Law-Milford graduate who lived in North Branford throughout his college years before enlisting in the Navy–spent seven months in Afghanistan; this was not the way he should have been welcomed home. Appliances, electronics, jewelry, kitchen appliances, clothing, golf clubs
and miscellaneous items were all gone.
Mike's friends, who have set up a Facebook page, have coordinated numerous events to help begin replacing clothes, kitchen times, electronics, etc. Some suggestions are gift cards to major retailers like Target, WalMart, JCPenney or Best Buy.
A local company is collecting checks. They can be made to Mike Castaldi and mailed c/o Tri City Appliance, 360-362 New Haven Ave, Milford, CT 06460
There are several locations to drop off donations for Castaldi:
- Venice Bakery, 1771 Dixwell in Hamden, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends.

Thank you for doing anything you can.
