Women & Family Life Center announces that one of the CT Shoreline’s premiere charity events of the year has been rescheduled due to Hurricane Sandy. Men Who Cook will take place Sunday, November 11th 2012, 5:00 pm at The Owenego Inn, Branford, CT.
The event will go on!! Join us for scrumptious food, not-to-be-missed auction items, and music as we recover from our shared experience of surviving Hurricane Sandy.
Our wonderful friends at the Owenego Inn are staying open an extra week in their season to host our rescheduled event. Our band, Blues on the Rocks, emcee, John Saville, and wine sponsor, Shoreline Wine Merchants have all rearranged their schedules to help us host this event, which is critical to our ability to provide support to families on the shoreline facing crises or difficult transitions. Now, we just need the community to take a post-hurricane break to help us help those in need.
“Events like Sandy make our work even more critical. Incidences of domestic violence increase, limited food budgets are ravaged and single parents lose income meant to support their children. Your support of those in our community who depend on your generosity is very much needed and appreciated,” says Peggy Britt, Women & Family Life Executive Director.
