SKERRITT FAMILY FUNDRAISER

Fundraiser will benefit Skerritt family left homeless by fireFriends and relatives of Ed and Marilyn Skerritt and their four children, who lost their North Branford home and possessions to an April 29 fire, are holding a fundraiser to help get the family back on its feet. Ed Skerritt is the son of Ed and Sally Skerritt brother of Tracy Morrissey and Debbie Skerritt. Eddie grew up in West Haven and still has many friends in West Haven. Marilyn Skerritt is the daughter of Marilyn Hanley of Woodbridge. The benefit is 1-5 p.m. June 9 at the Knights of Columbus, 263 Center St., West Haven. Tickets are $20; kids are free. The Skerritts have four boys ages 10-19— Christopher, Justin, Nicholas and Daniel — and have five dogs. No one was injured in the Sunday morning blaze at the family’s raised ranch house on Beech Street in North Branford, which was boarded up and declared uninhabitable by the town’s building inspector.
