Begging for a Dog Park? Treat Yourself to Tonight's Meeting

A group hoping to bring a dog park to North Branford will hold a meeting tonight at the North Branford Rec Center on Foxon Road.

Eric Hodgson, who is trying to make a North Branford dog park a reality, has announced several fundraising events and an organizational meeting tonight, Thursday, April 18. Read his announcement in our Boards section, or see the digest version below:

"We have our fundraising plans in place for the year! We will need volunteers for each event, so please get excited and ask how you can help! Check out our facebook page at north branford unleashed!

  • Our big fundraiser in the Spring is going to be The Dirty Dog Mud Run, and it will be held on June 22 in the area of Totocket Park. This 5K race will have challenging obstacles, mud, and more mud! It should be a lot of fun. There will be prizes for best costume, best group theme, and the fastest four participants (adult male and female and youth male and female) will win the coveted dirty dog trophy! Registration information will be coming soon! We will be advertising for this event at Help Willy's Friends event on May 19th. We will also be getting out the word at Matt's Mission run/walk also on May 19th.
  • The NB Potato and Corn festival will be held the first weekend in August! Come help out at our booth!
  • We will be advertising for our Fall Fundraiser, Bark at the Park and the NB Wagathon! This will be held in late September/Early October, although we are still trying to set the date.
We need your help to make the NB dogpark a reality! Please get involved. We will be holding a meeting to get things moving this Thursday evening (April 18th) at 7PM in the NB Rec Center on Foxon Road.

Please come! Regards, Eric Hodgson"
