Quick, re-stock your bread and milk. The white stuff is coming again.

The National Weather Service is calling for “moderate to heavy snow banding and/or snow squalls” starting Saturday afternoon in southern Connecticut.

A quick-moving frontal system could bring up to four inches of snow, according to estimates on Friday afternoon.

Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London Counties are included in a Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the NWS. No significant accumulation is expected in Litchfield, Hartford, Tolland and Windham Counties as of Friday afternoon.

“Hazardous travel conditions are likely as any heavier snow combined with moderately strong winds will significantly reduce visibilities,” the weather service says.

The forecast comes on the heels of heavy snowfall Tuesday into Wednesday, causing widespread school cancellations. Slow commutes and hazardous road conditions were exacerbated by weather-related delays along Metro-North Railroad lines, drawing wide criticism from riders.
