DOT: I-95 Bridge Work In Madison Begins This Monday

Drivers can expect lane closures in the northbound and southbound lanes in Madison, as well as Clinton, as part of the nighttime maintenance work along Interstate 95.

The state Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin maintenance projects on various bridges along Interstate 95 in Madison starting this Monday, May 5.

The project — which will include lane closures in both the northbound and southbound lanes — is expected to continue through to Friday, June 27.

DOT crew work hours will be from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Madison Bridge Work

Three bridges in all have been selected for the maintenance project.

They are:

  • Madison – Bridge No. 00212 over Mungertown Road
  • Madison – Bridge No. 00217 over New Road
  • Madison – Bridge No. 00218 over SSR 450 (Hammonasset Connector)
No work will be performed Friday, May 23 through the morning of Wednesday, May 28.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on I-95 NB and SB between Exit 59 (SR 718, Goose Lane) and Exit 63 (Route 81) in Clinton.  

"Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone," DOT officials stated in a press release.

They added that motorists "should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions."

In addition, drivers are also "advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity."
