Footprints on Our Hearts Walk to Remember

The Hygeia Foundation, a non-profit provider of support services to parents who have lost a pregnancy or infant, will hold its second annual Footprints on Our Hearts Walk to Remember at East Shore Park in New Haven. Participants will join together in remembrance of babies who have died before, during or soon after birth.

The Footprints on Our Hearts Walk to Remember occurs in October in observance of national Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.  Walkers will first gather for a memorial program and will then walk together for one mile around East Shore Park.

All funds raised from the walk will go toward the Hygeia Foundation’s programs.  The Hygeia Foundation, a non-profit organization in Connecticut, provides free bereavement support services to those who grieve the loss of a pregnancy or infant, including peer-led support groups in New Haven/Woodbridge, Guilford, and Westport, Conn.  The Hygeia Foundation also provides financial assistance to low-income bereaved parents who cannot afford the burial costs for their babies, and performs community outreach and educational programs.
