Man Steals North Branford Shed, Gets Away With It

Robert Fitch took a shed off of somebody else's property, but he will not be arrested, according to the New Haven Register.

A shed was stolen off a property by a man. The police know who did it. And yet, that man will not be arrested.

That’s the story coming out of North Branford, according to the New Haven Register. Police know that late last year Robert Fitch took a shed off of the former Amato's Restaurant property on Route 22 in Northford, which is owned by Kasia and Amato Bernardo, according to the New Haven Register.

And yet, he won’t be arrested. The Register reports that the Bernardos owe Fitch money, and rather than further complicate a complicated situation, they decided not to arrest Fitch for stealing the shed. Fitch has also offered to return the shed, but the Bernardos declined his offer, according to the Register.

Meanwhile, the Bernardos owe back taxes on the Amato property and the town is planning to auction it off, according to the Register. The Bernardos have since moved to Florida and have opened another restaurant, according to the Register.
