Timeline For Route 80 Construction In North Branford

If you have driven along Route 80 in North Branford any time over the last few months, you maybe wondering how much longer this construction project will go on.

Town engineer Kurt Weiss shared the timeline of expected phases of the construction, which is scheduled to be completed by November 2013.

  • Presently the gas company and Regional Water are working on relocations / adjustments to their facilities to accommodate the project. It is anticipated that this will take 3-4 weeks.
  • Once the gas company and Regional Water are complete, the contractor will work on lowering the road in the vicinity of the Co. # 1 firehouse and Central Plaza.
  • DOT has provided preliminary revised planting plans in the vicinity of Great Hill Road to us for review. They are proposing some revisions due to the extensive rock encountered in this area. We will review and report back on this matter.
  • DOT has agreed to extend the limits of work on Great Hill Road a little further north to accommodate concerns that we had about the transition to the existing portion of Great Hill Road.
