WATCH: Rosa DeLauro, Nancy Pelosi Visit North Branford

The two female congresswomen visited North Branford's Pennsylvania Globe Gaslight Company.

On Friday, Congresswomen Rosa DeLauro, D- Conn., and Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., visited a North Branford business to continue their push to gain equal pay for women, a federal paid sick leave mandate and for taxpayer-funded preschool programs for all low-and-moderate-income American families.

DeLauro and Pelosi visited North Branford's Pennsylvania Globe Gaslight Company, a business owned by a woman. There, they pushed for a federal mandate that businesses give sick days to their employees, that preschool programs were more widespread and that women make the same as men for the same job, according to the New Haven Register.

“Women are really struggling financially. They are looking for an increase in the minimum wage, equal pay, educational opportunities to raise their families and to have a better qualify of life,” DeLauro said at the event, according to the newspaper.
