Who Will Reign Supreme at the 2011 Potato and Corn Festival?

It’s time to make your nomination for the 2011 Potato and Corn Festival Royal Patch Court.

With the 10th annual North Branford less than a month away, it’s time to start thinking about the Royal Patch Court. Who will be King and Queen Corn? Who will be Prince and Princess Potato? You can help decide.

Like any great pageant, the top prize is ready to be handed down. Last year’s king and queen–Fran Merola and Tracy Fair–have been proudly displaying their King and Queen Mr. Potato Heads since taking over the throne and, while they will be saddened to give up the Potato and the title, it is time to crown a new court.

Do you know someone deserving of the title? We’re looking for nominations of outstanding citizens of North Branford and Northford of all ages. In addition to crowning King Corn and Queen Corn, North Branford Patch is happy to expand the Royal Patch Court to include Prince Potato and Princess Potato. As a sponsor of the Royal Patch Court, North Branford Patch will be on hand with the North Branford Park and Rec Department to announce the winners and award prizes.

To nominate someone, simply email the nominee’s name and why he or she should be elected to the royal court to Jenn McCulloch at jenn.mcculloch@patch.com. The Royal Patch Court will be announced on Sunday, Aug. 7 at 4 p.m. on the main stage before Big Shot’s performance at 4:30 p.m.
