Free Family Fun Days at the State Capitol

Recommended for ages 8 and older.

Spend some time exploring the seat of state government through free tours of Connecticut’s Supreme Court, State Capitol and the Museum of Connecticut History.


Activities include:

Find out what's happening in North Branfordwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

•    a scavenger hunt in the Museum of Connecticut History, where you will find exhibits that trace the growth of the State and its role in the development of the nation

•    visit the State Capitol’s Hall of Flags, which displays flags Connecticut soldiers have carried into battle, and also learn about the legislative process

•    learn about the historic Connecticut Supreme Court courtroom by visiting the room where Connecticut’s most important legal rulings have occurred

Schedule:

  • Tours of the Legislative Office Building & State Capitol(approximately one hour in duration, tours start at the Legislative Office Building) 210 Capitol Ave., Hartford   
  • 10:15 a.m. 11:15 a.m. 12:15 p.m. 1:15 p.m. 2:15 p.m.
  • Tour/Scavenger Hunt at the Museum of Connecticut History 231 Capitol Ave, Hartford
  • 9:45 a.m. 10:45 a.m. 11:45 a.m. 1:45 p.m.
  • Visits to the Supreme Court courtroom (approximately one hour in duration) 231 Capitol Ave., Hartford
  • 9:30 a.m. 10:30 a.m. 11:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m.

Lunch will be available for purchase at the Legislative Office Building’s cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
