North Haven’s own B. Willie Smith Band will headline Toad’s Place in New Haven on Saturday, June 2. The date coincides with The North Haven High School All-Class Reunion, which will take place from 11-4 that day.
The B. Willies are widely recognized as the top blues/R & B band ever to emerge from the Nutmeg State. Their legendary high-octane performances, delivered with style and power to spare, packed clubs throughout the east during the 70’s and 80’s.
“I’m really looking forward to coming home for the reunion and the Toad’s show. So many old friends to catch up with…”, said Bruce Smith (a.k.a. B. Willie) from his home in Tucson, AZ.
On performing at Toad's, Smith added, “Having played there more than a hundred times over the years, Toad's is definitely our home bar. It’s an institution, an icon! Whenever I meet musicians in other parts of the country, and mention New Haven, it’s ‘New Haven? Oh yeah, Toad’s.’ Every travelling musician knows that place!”
The combination of a B. Willie Reunion and the North Haven All-Class Reunion will make for a rockin’ time at Toad's on June 2!
