Now that Christmas is over, here's a look at the holiday break week's happenings including blood drives, Ask-a-Lawyer, art exhibits, New Year's celebrations and more.

As we look ahead to 2012, here are some ideas of what's going on in the final week of December.

Give Blood

There are two chances to give blood in the area this week with a  on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at St. Therese Church in Branford beginning at 1 p.m. and the  on Thursday, Dec. 29 at, also starting at 1 p.m.

Sign Up for a 5K

The annual  is Sunday, Jan. 1 at 11 a.m. The race–which takes place in rain, sleet or snow–begins on South Union Street.

Head to the Woodbridge Library and check out an a, who is an artist from Northford. The exhibit runs through the end of January.
