Thirty-three students of various ages who study violin, viola, cello, keyboard, woodwinds, brass, guitars and drums recently participated in the 5th annual "Rock N Bows" intensive held at Keys & Strings Music Studio in Wallingford.
Students represented the towns of Wallingford, North Haven, Meriden, Cheshire, Southington and Northford.
In just 20 hours, these musicians came together to learn several Classic Rock pieces and one improv piece that they created and performed them at an outdoor show and picnic on August 17. The main goal is not just performance, but to learn to work in a group that has varying levels and instruments that don't always work together.
Their set list included covers of Hendrix, Journey, Santana, Guns 'N Roses and more! This event is held each August and open to all musicians.
