Meet Frank Apuzzo: Owner of Pastry Fusions

If you've ever visited , you know that just walking through the door is an experience in and of itself. The scent of hundreds of cakes, cookies, pastries, handmade donuts, truffles and stuffed breads is strong enough to knock you off your feet. I would imgaine this is what Santa Claus' work shop smells like.

Owner is discussing cakes with two patrons as I peruse the cookies and big donuts that put Dunkin' very much to shame. Apuzzo wraps up his meeting with the ladies and takes a moment to introduce himself to North Branford Patch. 

North Branford Patch: What do you enjoy most doing business in North Branford?

Frank Apuzzo: I live in town and wanted to keep the business in town; there were not bakeries in North Branford when we opened up. I know lots of the town's people, it's a small town and everything works together. 

North Branford Patch: What makes your business unique?

Apuzzo: The variety of the things we do, from pastries to whacked out cakes...and we have donuts. 

North Branford Patch: What brought you into this business?

Apuzzo: I've alays been interested in baking. It started in high school when I worked in restaurants. My mother and grandmother were a big influence and when I worked at an Italian restaurant, these two great chefs really satisfied my curiosity. I learned at a young age. 

North Branford Patch: What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Apuzzo: Well you've witnessed it. When customers are really satisfied with what they get. 

North Branford Patch: What do you want your customers to know about your business?

Apuzzo: We're now doing donuts every day. We were doing a few hundred dozen every weekend and we'd been asked so often to do it every day. 

North Branford Patch: What do you do in your spare time?

Apuzzo: We are a motorcross family. We love dirt bikes, we're teaching the kids to ride now. There's a track down the road and a place in Milford that we're part of.
