Brandfon Honda Dealership to Install Solar Panels

Branford, CT –Brandfon Honda recently began installation of a 140 kilowatt system featuring 560 solar panels and 5 state-of-the-art, grid-enabled inverters to generate electricity for the dealership. Brandfon Honda is one of the first automotive facilities in the area to engage in the solar panel project. The system will produce 155,000 kilowatt hours per year, offsetting approximately 70% of the total annual electrical usage of the dealership. By using this green technology, it is estimated that the clean energy generated from the system is equivalent of planting 55 acres of trees or removing 3,250 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere over the life of the project.

This project secured a 15-year contract with CL&P through the Zero Emission Renewable Energy Credit (ZREC) program.

The solar panels are being installed by independent local contractors.
