Vista Participates in MADE Stronger Festival and Fun Run

The MADE Stronger Festival and Fun Run took place this past Sunday at the Surf Club in Madison, CT. This event marked the conclusion of the MADE Stronger Challenge, which was a community-wide, 6-week health and wellness challenge, hosted by Madison Alcohol and Drug Education Coalition (M.A.D.E.). Vista Vocational & Life Skills Center had a total of 103 participants in the MADE Stronger Challenge, including 35 staff and 68 students and members. Vista staff, students and members worked together to develop realistic and sustainable goals to implement healthy habits and embrace lifestyles of health and wellness. Participants celebrated a successful MADE Stronger Challenge and look forward to implementing healthier habits into their day to day lives.

There were approximately 200 attendees on Sunday, 50 being Vista students, members and staff. The event consisted of a 1.2 mile “Superhero Fun Run” where participants were encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero, live music from Madison’s School of Rock, and a performance by students of Vista’s Kung Fu Hip Hop class. Vista was proud to partner with M.A.D.E. and other event sponsors including Hightower, The Andriole Group, Shoreline Chiropractic, ASAP Urgent Care, Cohen's, Foodworks, Friends of Madison Youth, Harbor Promotions, Kerry Graham Shay, M.A, L.P.C., School of Rock, Scranton Memorial Library, Shoreline Fitness, Squeeze Pod, We Are The ONES Wellness and Coaching, and What's Cookin'. Congratulations to all of the M.A.D.E Stronger Challenge participants and to the overall winner of the Healthy Schools Challenge, Polson Middle School!
