NB Hockey Edges Guilford for 12-7-1 Record; First Round of State Tonight!!!

North Branford Hockey Defeats Guilford 3-2 and takes on New Milford on March 5 at 7 p.m. at Canterbury High School in the first round of the tournament!!!!

North Branford Hockey team defeated Guilford 3-2 to end the T-Birds' regular season with a record of 12-7-1. Mark Russo scored one goal and Alec Martone scored two in a very exciting game. The T-Birds began the game with a lead of 1-0. After the second period, it was tied at 2-2, but the T-Birds came back out strong in the third period and scored a goal to make the ending score 3-2.

Offensively, Mark Russo, Dylan Podbielski, Alec Martone, Nick Pascarelli, Chris Russo, Jordan Glenn, Jordan Mouning, Jared Neubig and Adam Burkle all played very well against Guilford. Defensively, Kris Marra, Nik Castaldi, Nick Johnson and Brendan Appi kept Guilford out of our zone, especially in the third period! 

North Branford had victories this season against Milford Co-op, Lyman Hall-Haddam Killingworth, Norwich Free Academy/St.Bernard/Bacon Academy, Sheehan, Warde/Ludlowe, Trumbull, Hand, Suffield/Granby/Windsor Locks (defeated them two times this season), Tri-Town, Hall/Southington and Guilford.

The T-Birds are now headed to Canterbury High School today, March 5, to take on New Milford in the first round of the tournament! The game begins at 7 p.m. and it is sure to be an action-packed game – one you do not want to miss!!! New Milford ended their regular season with a record of 13-6-2.

The T-Birds have been working very hard for this game. Best wishes to the entire team in the tournament!!!!
