North Branford Hockey Advances to State Semifinals on March 11!!!

North Branford Hockey defeated Newtown 5-1 in the quarterfinals and advances to the semifinals Monday March 11th at Ingalls Rink!

North Branford hockey defeated Newtown 5-1 in the quarterfinals of the Division II State Tournament and is now headed to the semifinals! Dylan Podbielski, Nick Johnson and Brendan Appi scored goals with Nik Castaldi adding two goals.

Kyle Saroka played an excellent game and defenders Kris Marra, Brendan Appi, Nik Castaldi and Nick Johnson played another very solid game. Nik Castaldi played an excellent game! There was a great show of support for the T-Birds the stands were filled.

The T-Birds now play in the semifinal game at Ingalls rink on Monday, March 11 against Fairfield/Warde Ludlowe at 5:30 p.m. North Branford is the ninth seed team and Fairfield/Warde/Ludlowe is the 13th seed with a regular-season record of 12-10-0.

Fairfield/Warde/Ludlowe defeated the 4th seed Watertown 3-2 in the first round of the tournament. In the quarterfinals, they defeated Branford 3-2 in double overtime.
