Enchanted Fairy Village

Help us turn holiday cards into an Enchanted Fairy Village at the Smith Library.

Where do all the fairies and wee folk reside during the winter months? Are they caught inside the pages of books on the shelves in the Childrens Room–in The Spiderwick Chronicles, Peter Pan, Thumbelina, Tom Thumb, etc?

Help us lure them from their literary hiding places into our cozy library by providing them cute little holiday card homes.

Come join in the fun of constructing an Enchanted Fairy Village at the on Monday, Jan. 23 from 5 to 8 pm. Craft your own miniature fairy house from cardstock and embellish it with cutouts from holiday cards. These magical dwellings will remain on display until the warmer weather draws the fairies and the wee folk outside into the garden.

The project is recommended for children in 3rd grade and up with the help of an adult.

Please bring: holiday cards, scissors, simple embellishments and your imagination. We will provide instructions, patterns, and glue.

Sign up in the Children’s Room in person, by phone at 203-484-0469 or by emailing , children's librarian, dcverrillo@yahoo.com.
