Community Rallies to Aid Tressel Family

Food and refreshment booth at June 5's Touch-a-Truck will benefit the Tressel family.

After passed away last month, his wife Laura’s coworkers at in Guilford wanted to help in any way they could. John Izzo, a fellow real estate agent with connections to North Branford, contacted Pam Gery at the and about a fundraiser.

The Rec Department is holding its on Sunday, June 5 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot by the auditorium. Gery offered Izzo the chance to run a food booth at the event for no charge so all proceeds can benefit the Tressel family. The fundraiser is being sponsored by Laura’s family, friends and coworkers at Raveis.

“The whole town has come out to volunteer and so have a lot of agents and their family members,” said Izzo. “Raveis is a family-run real estate agency so when things trickle down to our office, we’re there for each other.”

In addition to the food booth, a silent auction, kickball game and carwash are also in the works. Izzo says they plan on selling hot dogs, hamburgers, fries and drinks. The committee is not only looking for donations of food items and silent auction items, but also for volunteers. For information, contact John at 203-887-2574 or john.izzo@raveis.com.
