In no particular order, here are some of the stories that made me proud to cover North Branford and Northford:

  • North Branford High School students taking part in the Big Give and .
  • Jeff Delgaudio donating part of his liver to fellow North Branford resident Joe Sansone.
  • Seeing the success of the Matt's Mission 5K and the amazing strength of Lynn Riordan and all she does for this town.
  • Watching town officials and public figures come together with the staff at Jerome Harrison Elementary School for a fun 'Read' Carpet extravaganza.
  • Going green with students at Totoket Valley Elementary School, who showcased their talents at the EcoFair.
  • The way the town came together as news spread of a fire at the Skerritt's North Branford home. Before I even heard news of the fire, my cell phone was ringing with people asking how to help.
  • The buzz in town as NBHS was named a finalist – and then won – the Teen.com's .
  • And last, but certainly not least, covering T-Birds' sports. Many teams had great runs – especially the 2011-12 hockey team that went to the state semifinals and the 2012 football team's trip to the state championship – but no matter what the record or where a team finished, it was always great to head to a game, catch up with the parents and players and talk to the coaches and staff.

Thank you for sharing your stories with me and I look forward to being a part of many more in 2013.
