PHOTOS: Picking Up the Pieces After Hurricane Irene
North Branford escaped the devastation of other towns, but the damage from Hurricane Irene was heavy. Here's just one of the stories.
Hurricane Irene is gone, but its effects are still being felt throughout North Branford.
Dennis (who didn’t give his last name) had a 50-foot problem due to the hurricane. A tree fell onto his Northford home on Maplewood Lane at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday. Nobody was hurt and the damage appeared to be relatively minor. Friends came over with an excavators and chainsaws to lift the tree of the roof and cut it into pieces.
“The woodpeckers didn’t like it,” Dennis said of the fallen tree.
