Power Restored to 117 North Branfordites

United Illuminating has reported outages in five of the 17 towns it serves.

The United Illuminating Company reported power outages in 117 North Branford homes and businesses at about 12 p.m. Tuesday. By 1:10 p.m., power was back on in those homes, according to a list on the company's website that updates about every ten minutes.

The power supplier, which serves 17 towns in southeastern Connecticut, holds 3,352 accounts in North Branford; the 117 outages set the percentage of those without power in town at 3.49 percent.

By contrast, in Milford, 1,294, or 4.49 percent, of account holders were without power this afternoon (since reduced to 24), and in Orange, 586, or 9.81 percent, of homes and businesses were without power (since reduced to two). As of 1:10 p.m., New Haven, North Haven, and Shelton had reported one, 23, and one outage, respectively.
