Tonight's TV Tips: Sunday, Jan. 30

On tonight: SAG Awards, Downtown Abbey

The Lost Valentine, 9 p.m., CBS

“A reporter seeks the truth about a woman's husband, a pilot who never returned from duty in World War II. Based on a novel by James Michael Pratt. Jennifer Love Hewitt, Betty White.” Of course I find it hilarious to think of JSnuggles as a reporter. It will be nice to see Betty White in something in which she is not machine-gunning double entendres, though.

Downton Abbey, 9 p.m., PBS

If you like well-dressed intrigue and repressed emotions (think Remains of the Day), then you should really be watching this. And apparently you can find the previous episodes online for a short time. Totally worth it. “Rumors abound about Mary's virtue; Sybil takes a risk in her secret political life; Anna reveals Bates' mysterious past.”

17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, 8 p.m., TNT, tbs

If you like the Golden Globes then you’ll love the SAG awards, because none of those irritating writers, producers and directors are hogging the screen in their rented finery. This is all stars, from start to finish, and it is awesome. Plus, someone usually trips. Not sure why.
