The season finale. Sigh. Last week, the show went where I had hoped it wasn’t going to go all season when Chance and Ilsa kissed. “But Elissa,” you are thinking, “he’s not really your boyfriend. You shouldn’t think that way.” Yes, well, first of all, dear reader, he might be my boyfriend, you have no idea what goes on in my life. And second, Chance is attracted to strong women who can shoot guns and drop kick bad guys. He is not attracted to women who are constantly doing their imitation of Bambi. So from a plot point it doesn’t make sense either.

The network could give no greater gift to Matthew Perry than this time slot, after Modern Family. Perry, who has struggled since Friends ended a lifetime ago, is back in a sitcom in which he plays the manager of a sports arena. Hilarity ensues. Hold the phone, though. The magnificent Alison Janney, last seen killing people with big rocks on Lost, is on this as well. Definitely going to check it out.

Speaking of Modern Family, who doesn’t love Valentine’s Day with this crazy bunch? Remember last year? Fabulous. Tonight, “Claire and Phil decide to reprise their role-playing adventure from the previous year; Jay's elaborate Valentine's surprise for Gloria keeps getting held up; an admirer comes between Cameron and Mitchell.”
