A big day in history, a town meeting, and a major DVD release.

1. It is the 69th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, commonly remembered as  the "day of infamy" thanks to Franklin D. Roosevelt's famous Dec. 8, 1941 speech. On Sunday morning, Dec. 7, 1941, the Japanese army attacked Pearl Harbor, pulling the U.S. into World War II. The National Archives has compiled a group of "man on the street" interviews recorded on Dec. 8, 1941. Here you can listen to reactions from all over the country (but sadly, not from Connecticut). 

2. of the local water pollution control authority and the Town Council will be held at Town Hall, 909 Foxon Road, at 7 p.m.

3. The town will hold a event at the North Branford Community Center, 1599 Foxon Road,  at 6 p.m. The fee is $18 and includes a 12-inch tree with all the trimmings. This event is open to all.

4. The Branford Chamber of Commerce will hold a at Bill Miller's Castle, 834 E. Main St., Branford from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Fees are $15 for pre-registered members, $18 for members at the door, and $20 for non-members, and include food, entertainment, and networking.

5. Christopher Nolan's mind-bending masterpiece "Inception" is out on DVD and Blu-Ray today.
