Press release: The NBPD arrests a man for kidnapping, assault and strangulation.

A 20-year-old woman, whose identity is not being released to preserve her privacy, was allegedly beaten and choked late Sunday night, being held against her will for nearly six hours before she was able to escape.

The victim had attended a concert with Chance Grady, 30, of 69 Fowler Rd., North Branford, on Sunday night after meeting him about three weeks ago. They were driving home to pick up her car when she allegedly observed him ingesting what appeared to be cocaine.

North Branford police reported that, around 2 a.m., she was forced into a room at the home where it is said that she was “beaten and choked. During the attack, Grady reportedly also held a knife to the victim’s throat.”
