$1,315 Closer to North Branford Dog Park!
North Branford is $1,315 dollars closer to having its own dog park! Read about our successful fundraising at the Potato fest and about how you can get involved.
I'm happy to report that North Branford Unleashed! kicked off its fundraising campaign for the at this year's and raised more than $1,300! Components of our fundraising at the potato festival included a raffle, sales of bumper stickers and t-shirts and a skill I learned from my dog Atticus–good old fashioned begging!
After a year of hard work , it was terrific to get the chance to talk about the specifics of the location, the proposed plans for the park, our fundraising campaign and ways for folks to get involved. If the excitement of the people who visited our booth is any indication, we will raise the initial $17,000 for the first part of the dog park in no time. One thing is certain, North Branford and Northford is full of dog lovers!
A special thanks to everyone who contributed, particularly to , which very generously donated a beautiful dog-themed gift basket for our raffle, and to one of our amazing volunteers, Susan, who donated a beautiful basket of perennials. The lucky raffle prize winners were Janice Wolf who won the Agway basket and Lettie St Laurent who won the perrennial basket. , the owner of , also donated gift certificates for a free day of doggie day care (for those people who didn't want raffle tickets).

Our dedicated volunteers spent countless hours in the hot sun talking about North Branford's plans for the dog park, the proposed location, and, of course, about our dogs. Special thanks to Scooby Doo who came to the festival to show his support and to take pictures with some of his fans.
A special shout out to our youngest volunteer, Katie, who went above and beyond the call of duty to help out...what a gifted salesperson!
