Be a Santa to a Senior program delivered nearly 400 gifts last year to local needy seniors is being planned again this holiday season.
Home Instead Senior Care-Guilford the world’s largest provider of non medical home care and companionship will sponsor the seventh Be a Santa to a Senior program.

Senior centers and social services in local communities will collect gift ideas and identify individuals. As well as Apple-Rehab-Guilford and Watrous Nursing Center.
Local merchants including Roberts Food Center, Stop n Shop in Madison, Branford, East Haven, T&J Supermarket in East Haven and Wal-Mart in Guilford agreed to place Christmas trees in their stores. Trees will also be placed at the Guilford and North Branford Community Centers.

Ornaments with a code for the senior’s name and their gift request will be placed on the tree. Shoppers can choose an ornament, buy an item listed and after wrapping it, return the ornament and gift to the store or community center to be collected by Home Instead Senior Care-Guilford.
Apple-Rehab and Watrous Nursing Center in Guilford will host a special holiday party (including Santa’s arrival) for residents and their families. Girl Scout Troops 62179, 62303 and 62117 will help to hand out gifts and sing carols at these two facilities.
Towns of Madison, Guilford, North Branford, East Haven, Social Services and Senior Centers will have volunteers deliver gifts to seniors with a short visit.
