Join the Bushy Hill Nature Center staff for a tour of our sugar shack, complete with a new evaporator and sugaring system. Learn about the process of making maple syrup from when to collect sap to how it’s bottled. Try a sample of our deliciously unique maple syrup. Then, head out to sit by the fire where you can enjoy a cup of coco or coffee and waffles drizzled in Bushy Hill Maple Syrup.
To find us, drive to the Bushy Hill Sugar Shack, 253 Bushy Hill Rd, Ivoryton, CT (Next to Alpacas at Applesauce Acres Farm). Drive past the small pond on your left. Please park in the dirt parking lot across from the office or if you continue down the camp road parking will be on your right (across from the field) or to the left as the road continues around the corner. The sugar shack is on the far side of the big field.
Hiking trails are open to the public from September – June. Feel free to stay and take a hike after visiting the Bushy Hill Sugar Shack!
