Parents as Leaders: Supporting your Child with a Learning Disability

Presented by Ramapo for Children through KIDSTEPS Family and Children's Center
The “Parents as Leaders: Supporting Your Child with a Learning Disability ” workshop will provide parents and caregivers of children with learning challenges with specific skills and ideas for supporting the success of their child at home and in school. 
Participants will learn:
 Techniques for communicating with children who learn differently by using visuals,non-verbal cues, and step-by-step instructions. Strategies for preventing and reducing difficult behaviors, anticipating problems,and reducing stress.
 Skills and ideas for advocating effectively for their child’s needs in their school and community.
