Another Vote for Romney, Our Next President

One person's impression after the Republican National Convention.

I am so proud of Gloria, my mother-in-law, she has come a long way. It has been extremely difficult to discuss politics with her over the years. She, like many others, would vote the party line instead of voting for a person.

She has stopped drinking the Cool-Aide and is now finally come around to understand that our current President has been a total failure. It is very clear to me, if men and women like Gloria are finally seeing the light, Mitt Romney will be the next President of this country and not any too soon.

As a senior citizen, she is no longer afraid that anything will be taken away from her. She recognizes that her grandchildren and great grandchild will be in serious trouble, if something isn’t done to stop this spending craze.

The email below is what she sent me, I thought I would share it with you:

I have for the past couple of nights watched and listened to Ann Romney talk about her husband. Was fascinated and finally so glad to find out just what kind of a person Mitt was. Surely was a revelation. Also heard from people to whom Romney has helped. I was getting to know him on a much higher plane than before and liked what I was being told about him.

I really do feel that Mitt will do for our country what he says he will. I believe he has deep compassion and integrity and can help lead us out of this horrible mess we are in. Stayed until the last balloon came down and listened carefully to all Mitt Romney had to say.

I found myself not only liking this man, but feeling a trust I do not feel for Obama. I do not know about this movie you mentioned on email, but I do know that Obama is ruining this country and putting us in the worst position we have ever been in. I know that after listening to all the past few nights one of the things Romney said besides other things, that resonated was, what happened to all those wonderful promises Obama made on election night.

I understand Obama is going to do a TV thing where we are supposed to know more about the man. I no longer care what he says, and like millions of others was thoroughly duped by Obama. I am amazed at how many people still believe in him and think he deserves another 4 years.

For the second time in my life I am going to vote Republican this presidential election. However, I want democrats in the house of representatives and in the senate and congress. There are many good people in the democratic party, and frankly I dislike the tea party ultra conservatives and how they think and so on. This is going to be a very close election and I worry for our country if Obama has another 4 years.

Move from trickle down to supply side. I guess trickle down works so we need to change tracks instead of admitting the obvious. It Works. Supply-side economics is a school of macroeconomic thought that argues that economic growth can be most effectively created by lowering barriers for people to produce (supply) goods and services, such as lowering income tax and capital gains tax rates, and by allowing greater flexibility by reducing regulation. Now we can spend time discussing incentives. So there is no alternative to trickle down. Please provide a theory that differs from trickle down. No one seems to be able to.

Blame belongs to every citizen, you and I, for our current political system, and its unfair practices. The system is no longer democratic. In the day, elected officials at the town level / county level, presented both sides of issue(s) to consitutents. It was easy. Smaller populations. A simpler life style. Constitutents voted. The same officials took the town citizen voice to the state and in turn to the federal level. In todays world how many of the laws passed, (related to federal / state taxes, political contributions, etc) have you voted for or against. Zero! Who asked for your opinion at the federal level. If the public does not unite too change the current system to enable true representation for the good of the people (let us vote on congressional benefits, foreign aid, health care, etc) before the legislature makes it law. Oh! We do not have the intelligence! So our elected officials will decide based on whats best for them, their friends, and large contributors. You and I play second fiddle. Note: Our form of government is still the best in the world, but it could be better based on one major goal, namely reform .... returning control back to the voters. Possible, yes. Voting over the internet. No access. Vote at town hall or other polling place. Cost ... give me a break. Continued:

Continuation: Lets vote on something everyday and get more done then our current Senate and Congress. We could do better than the current State legislatures in CT, given the opportunity. We do not have to agree on everything. But we all tend to agree the system is experiencing high blood pressure.

It would be interesting to combine excerpts of the movie "Obama's America 2016", with a buning consulate. A sad result of Obama's anti-colonialism bent & his policies of appeasment. This is a teachable moment in history, but neither Obama nor his state department have anything substative to teach the world about America's first ammendment or our constitution. It is my hope more American's understand that the changing circumstances that American's working over seas are finding, in many places in the world are due to Obama's policies. With Obama's policies of appeasment it has become very dangerous to work over seas. These times remind me of the circumstances created by Arthur Neville Chamberlain prior to WW2. Its time to vote out Obama!
