It's official. According to a poll of North Branford Patch readers, I will be rooting for the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI. My dad will certainly be happy!
Regardless of who you are rooting for, I hope everyone enjoys the day. I know I will with plenty of good company, lots of good food and, thanks to the loyal North Branford Patch readers, a team to cheer for.
Go Giants!

Being basically right in the , allegiances tend to be split here in and , much as they are between the .
I said I was going to get into football before the 2011-12 season. I even went so far as to pick a team and buy a T-shirt...the Cleveland Browns. Why you may ask? Two very good, totally uninformed reasons. I was born in Ohio and I like the color orange.
Needless to say, I didn't get into football all that much (okay, not at all) and can't even tell you how the Browns finished. Now here we are on Super Bowl Sunday and with a party at my parents' house, I feel like I should have a team to root for.
The allegiances are split in my family, too–not as split as my cousin's house where she is a diehard Giants fan with her Massachusetts-raised hubby devoted to the Pats. My dad is a Giants fan, while my kids' dad has influenced my six-year-old and four-year-old to root for the Patriots.
Besides the commercials and seeing , what fun is watching the Super Bowl without a team to cheer for? So I am leaving it up to North Branford Patch readers.
Vote in the poll and I'll pick up a T-shirt for the team with the most votes by 2 p.m. to wear to the Super Bowl party at DeeDee and Dude's (those are my parents–hi guys!). I'll be sure to take a picture to share, too.
