Summer Olympics, 8 p.m., NBC
Tonight, Gymnastics, finals: men's parallel bars, men's high bar, women's balance beam, women's floor exercise; track and field, finals: women's 100m hurdles, men's 1,500m, men's high jump; beach volleyball: semifinal. How much “beach volleyball” can one nation endure? This has gone on longer than The Firm.
NY Med, 10 p.m., ABC
ABC is showing an actual new episode of something – this well-reviewed reality show about life in an NYC hospital – because they know that right about now we have had enough of the Olympics. Happens every night to me at 10. Tonight, “A single mother learns she has breast cancer; surgeons collaborate on a liver transplant between brothers; an emergency medicine resident reacts to a prank.”
Destination Truth, 9 p.m., SyFy
“The team travels to Romania to investigate reports of a vampire monster and to a lonely island in Sweden that is haunted by the ghosts of witches.” BTW, the island’s name, Island of the Damned. Not really great for marketing.
