18-Year-Old Arrested on Drug Charges

An 18-year-old North Branford man was arrested on drug charges after being stopped for speeding on Forest Road at 4:45 a.m. Sept. 1.
Police said the suspect, who they identified as John Marciano of North Branford Road, was pulled over for traveling 67 mph in a 45 mph zone. During the course of the traffic stop, police said, Marciano was found to be in possession of 2.3 grams of marijuana, as well as items of drug paraphernalia.
Marciano was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of more than four ounces of marijuana and speeding.

Marciano was released on a written promise to appear in court on Sept. 16.
