3 Questions for Police Chief Matthew Canelli: Favorite Movie

Matthew Canelli, chief of the North Branford Police Department, updates us on town news and some fun stuff, too!

It's week two of our . This week, in addition to finding out what's new in different departments and something residents need to know, we're asking "What's your favorite movie?"

North Branford Patch: What’s new in your department?
Police Chief Matthew Canelli: We have a new dispatcher, Rita Davis was recently hired to replace . Rita, a lifelong town resident and a former police dispatcher for the City of New Haven, comes to our department fully trained and certified, which is a great benefit to our department. We welcome her and are happy to have her.

North Branford Patch: What's something residents should know?
Canelli: We ask all residents to be aware of potential phone scams in which the perpetrators impersonate a family member and ask for them to wire money. Please contact our department before sending any funds to anyone if you receive one of these calls so we can assist you in verifying the claims before you send any funds.

North Branford Patch: What's your favorite movie?
Canelli:  I have many, but if I had to narrow it down I would say it would have to be Secretariat. I've seen it so many times that I've lost count.

Stay tuned for more responses from other officials throughout the week.
