BREAKING NEWS: U.S. Marshals Capture Totoket Road Fugitive

U.S. marshals found Frank Annette hiding in a closet early this morning in Fair Haven, North Branford police say.

on Feb. 18 was captured in the Fair Haven section of New Haven this morning by U.S. marshals, Detective Sgt. Kenneth McNamara said.

McNamara said he spoke to a U.S. marshal who took part in the capture. The marshal told him the fugitive, Frank Annette, 34, was found hiding in a closet in the house. McNamara said the marshal did not give an address for the house.

From his talk with the marshal, McNamara said the U.S. marshals believe Annette had been staying at the house since his escape from police on Feb. 18, when he slipped through the fingers of two Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) federal agents, six state troopers, two U.S. marshals and a regional SWAT team, who - for more than four hours - thought Annette had barricaded himself in a house at 222 Totoket Road.

Annette is wanted on federal charges for narcotics distribution and possession of a firearm while trafficking narcotics, which was issued last September in Burlington, Vt. (his last known address), and for conspiracy to distribute cocaine-based crack and narcotics.

McNamara said Annette is due in federal court in New Haven at 2:30 p.m. today.

As of 2:30 p.m., the U.S. marshals could not be reached for comment.
