Clinton 3-Year-Old At Yale Following Tractor Accident

Allegedly, she was with a parent on a two-seat tractor when she either fell off or was run over, sustaining injuries.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Sept. 17, Clinton Police responded to a tractor accident at 110 Commerce Street involving a three-year-old girl.

Sgt. Jeremiah Dunn of the Clinton Police said that the girl, who is not being named at this time, was with a parent, also not being named, seated on a tractor when she either fell off or was run over, sustaining injuries.

The tractor was in motion when the incident occurred, said police. The child was rushed to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

"She was conscious and alert when the ambulance arrived at Yale," said Dunn.

The 110 Commerce Street is a private home, noted Dunn. The tractor was not a lawn mower type vehicle but a medium-size vehicle with a bucket on one side and a scoop on the other. It has two seats, one allegedly held the parent, the other allegedly the young girl.

The incident is currently under investigation.

In a rare similarity, a tragic accident involving a Branford two-year old and his grandfather occurred earlier this summer.
