WOODBRIDGE – A 17-year-old high school student reportedly lashed out at a teacher with a litany of profanities on March 21.

According to police, the Amity Regional High School teacher confronted the student who was smoking in the parking lot. That’s when the student, whose name was withheld, reportedly lost control and let the teacher have it. And that’s what led the student to being charged with creating a public disturbance.

Police said Alvarado attempted to steal $1,700 worth of coats from Bon Ton back in February. When store security confronted Alvarado, he reportedly fought with them, dropped the coats and took off.

An investigation ultimately led police to Alvarado, who also had active warrants out for his arrest stemming from separate incidents.

STRATFORD – The Honeyspot Motel wasn’t a sweet spot for a couple arrested on multiple drug charges on March 26.

It was the sound of a scuffle and a barking dog in one of the rooms that led an individual to provide an anonymous tip to a patrol officer that a disturbance was taking place in room 111 at 12:43 a.m.

Police said a woman with a bump on her forehead and a small amount of blood on her head answered the motel room door. Inside, police said, was a man lying on the bed with a crack pipe on his lap. Officers searched the man, Alpheus Jefferson, 50, and reportedly found crack cocaine on his person. Nearby was a screwdriver with burnt residue on it. Jefferson reportedly told police that he used the screwdriver as a push rod for the crack pipe.

Meanwhile, the woman, identified as Carmen Fontanez, 49, was sitting in a chair with the two dogs when police reportedly observed her trying to hide drugs. A female officer, who was called to the scene to search Fontanez, stated that Fontanez pulled a crack pipe, a clear baggy with crack and some folds of heroin from her underwear.

Both Fontanez and Jefferson were arrested on multiple drug charges. Check out thefull report for more information.
