Hans Visits Smith Library Over February Vacation

Check out these great photos of North Branford police dog Hans, who visited children at the Smith Library.

The North Branford libraries hosted a wide variety of programs over the February vacation week that drew boys and girls, parents and caregivers and even a puppy – Hans, the new police canine for the North Branford Police Department.

Hans and his handler, Sergeant Mario Bernardo, visited the library on Feb. 20, getting a chance to meet lots of children.

"Thank You very much to Sergeant Bernardo for bringing Hans to the library for a visit," said Debbie Verrillo, the children's librarian. "We learned so much about his training and his canine police car. He's so fluffy and friendly. It will be a joy to watch him grow."
