Larcenies of Scrap Metal and OTC Medication

The North Branford Police Department recently made several larceny arrests.

Here are the details of the larcenies reported in yesterday's . 

On June 23, the North Branford Police Department arrested Christopher Ghiroli, 21, of 51 Silver St., Branford, for first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree larceny, first-degree false statement, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit first-degree criminal mischief. 

Ghiroli was reported to have stolen radiators and two car batteries from a previous employer and then sold them to a scrap metal dealer. Upon investigation, he had allegedly sold many items to the scrap metal dealer over a long period of time, totaling more than $10,000.

On June 24, the NBPD received a call from  in North Branford about a suspected shoplifting. When the officer arrived, the suspect had fled the store and the parking lot, eventually being located near the condominiums across the street. Elizabeth Castellano,  40, of 631 Great Hill Rd., Guilford, was brought back to Rite Aid where surveillance video was reviewed in which Castellano allegedly attempted to hide 42 boxes of Prilosec in a store circular. She was charged with sixth-degree larceny.
