National Guard Gives NBFD a Hand

The National Guard helped the North Branford Fire Department respond to several calls on Saturday.

With most of North Branford's roads "impassable" yesterday, the North Branford Fire Department enlisted the help of the Connecticut National Guard in responding to calls.

"I called the Connecticut National Guard today to assist the NBFD in accessing remote areas in order to answer three EMS calls," said Fire Chief William Seward. "Without their assistance, we would have never reached patients."
