NBPD By the Numbers: February

Here are the latest stats from the North Branford Police Department for the month of February.

At the March 12 ,  Chief Matthew Canelli presented the statistics from the month of February. Incident activity included:

  • 732 calls
  • 28 motor vehilces with 5 injuries
  • 51 motor vehicle summons
  • 32 written warnings
  • 49 alarms of which 49 were false
  • 10 criminal arrests
  • 1 juvenile arrest

Canelli reported that the vehicle maintenance costs for February were $1,188.87, which included the cost of the chief's new gas tank, new tires on one of the police cars and brakes and rotors for another.

The cost of prisoner watch dating back to July 1, 2011 stands at $8,246.99, while proceeds from permits, fines, etc. stand at $4,015, which goes into the town's general fund.

The Officer of the Month Award was presented to Officer Ron Ferrucci for his efforts in for the , while Sean Anderson was named detective. 

Top-scoring officers for the Sergeants' Exam, which was administered by South Central Criminal Justice Association of Connecticut, were Records Officer Mario Bernardo, Officer James Lovelace, Detective Sean Anderson and Officer Robert Brockett.
